“As far as  Comelec is concerned, our preparation for  BARMM elections pushes through,” Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Garcia said candidates and political parties participating in next year’s midterm elections have only 12 days left to register their online campaign platforms with  Comelec.

Comelec reminded politicians and political parties to comply with registration requirements to avoid  possibility of their online campaign platforms being taken down.

Poll  body is requiring candidates and political parties to register all their social media accounts in  effort to prevent disinformation and fake news during  campaign.

Garcia said  Dec. 13 deadline for registration of social media accounts would no longer be extended.

Comelec is also set to kick off today  campaign for voter education and demonstration on  use of automated counting machines (ACMs).

Roadshow  will run until Jan. 30, 2025.

Voter  education campaign is part of  Comelec’s preparation for next year’s polls and  Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections.

Garcia said  Comelec would continue preparing for  first BARMM parliamentary elections until  law postponing  scheduled polls is passed by both houses of Congress.`
