NPC forges alliance with FMJ PFP

By Nidz Godino

“Historically,  NPC has always been supportive of elected president…with urgency, we continue to push for unity among  leaders of our great nation…with that in mind, our party will heed  call of PFP,” Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC)chairman and former Senate president Vicente Sotto III said in  statement more than a week after forging  alliance with  Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD),  Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP),  party of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., formed yet another partnership, this time with NPC, as it sets its sights on  2025 midterm polls.

Marcos witnessed  signing of  alliance in Makati City,  partnership that  NPC said is grounded on parties’ “desire for genuine unity, strength, and continued positive change.”

“I believe this alliance will foster cooperation and strong support for our President considering our party has almost 4,000 members,  1,910 are incumbent public officials,” he added.

Parties  gave  assurance that  alliance would seek to fulfill public service with “utmost integrity, transparency, accountability, people participation, effectiveness, and efficiency.”

“Public service should come before and beyond personal interests…this partnership proves our commitment to  Filipino people, that their interests are our primordial duty,” Sotto, who ran for vice president in 2022 under  ticket of former senator Panfilo Lacson, said.

Earlier this month, PFP signed an alliance with Lakas-CMD,  development that Marcos had described as “significant moment for Philippine politics and public service.”  Partnership, dubbed as “Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas,” seeks to improve  lives of Filipinos under  new Philippines, according to recent Palace statement.

Marcos is chairman of  PFP,  formed in 2018.

PFP, Lakas-CMD, Hugpong ng Pagbabago, Partido ng Masang Pilipino and guest candidates from different parties constituted  UniTeam Alliance during 2022 national elections,  saw Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio winning the polls by  landslide.
