11 drug suspects caught; P30-M drugs seized

BASED on  records from Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division, Baguio City Police Office recorded highest number of arrests with fourteen (14) followed by Benguet PPO with eight. Mountain Province recorded six arrests while Kalinga and Ifugao had one each.

Eleven drug personalities were arrested while more than P30 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during  series of aggressive anti-drug operations.

Baguio City Police Office arrested six drug suspects while  Kalinga Police Provincial Office nabbed three and  Apayao Police Provincial Office apprehended two during  series of anti-drug operations.

In Baguio City, the arrested drug personalities were identified as Kyle Cariño, 23; Darvin Jason Della, 25; Cristina Escopete, 35; Steven Donne, 27; Jason Prodon, 32; and a 17-year-old minor.

In Kalinga, the arrested individuals were identified as Raechelle Kitongan Canao, 29; Augusto Binuloc Gunnawa, 38; and Arnel Langao Wadwad, 26.

In Apayao, the arrested individuals were identified as Rosemarie Guitierrez, 27; and Silvino Likigan Calawag, 60.

The weeklong anti-illegal drugs operations conducted has resulted in seizure of 44.293 grams of suspected shabu, 206,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves and stalks, and 120 ml of marijuana oil with  total standard drug price of P24,794,060.

All arrested suspects are now facing charges for  violation of Republic Act 9165 or  “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”

In a separate anti-illegal drug operation in Benguet, nine marijuana plantation sites were discovered in the municipalities of Kibungan and Bakun.

The joint operatives of 1st Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company and Special Action Force also confiscated 29,020 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants with an estimated value of P5,984,000 and 4,500 pieces of marijuana seedlings amounting to P180,000.

All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on site by the operatives while investigations are ongoing to identify  cultivators and financiers of  marijuana plantations.

The police also collared 31 individuals with pending warrants of arrest in  different parts of the Cordillera in the past week.
