DoST echelon swears in

AT least eleven (11) newly appointed officials by the Marcos administration sworn in to public office,

Science  and Technology Secretary Renato Solidum sworn into office ,the first batch of newly appointed officials of  DoST. Among those who took their oath were Assistant Secretaries Dr. Diana Ignacio for Administrative and Legal Affairs, Dr. Leah Buendia for International Affairs, and Maridon Sahagun for Finance and Strategic Planning. In the Central Office, the newly appointed directors include Cezar Pedraza for Planning and Evaluation Service, Angely Medalle-Alviar for Administrative and Legal Affairs, and Racquel Alvendia for Service, Financial and Management Service.

Reappointed to their positions were Dr. Carlo Arcilla, who will continue to head  Philippine Nuclear Research Institute; Dr. Enrico Paringit of the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development; Dr. Imelda Angeles-Agdeppa for the Food and Nutrition Research Institute; Richard Burgos for the Science and Technology Information Institute; and Marion Ivy Decena as director of the Technology Application and Promotion Institute.

For Director 3 positions, among those appointed were Engr. Albert Marino for Science Education Institute, Dr. Christine Marie Montesa and Dr. Zorayda Ang of the Industrial Technology Development Institute, and Dr. Rico Cabangon of the Forest Products Research and Development Institute.

Other appointments were Dr. Vicente Malano, who will serve as Administrator of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Association; Dr. Esperanza Cayanan as Pagasa director; and Dr. Teresito Bacolcol as director of  Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.

A second oath-taking ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 7, for those who were not able to join the first batch.
