Slope Protection Underway along Alaminos-Bolinao Road in Pangasinan

Motorists traversing Alaminos – Bolinao Road in Bani, Pangasinan will soon have safer travels with the ongoing road improvement works by The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
According to DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan, the slope protection project that would prevent landslides in Barangay Tiep is now halfway done and is set for completion by January 2023.
“The ongoing project is intended to make the critical slope along Alaminos-Bolinao Road more stable as heavy rains and natural calamities can trigger erosion and pose great risks to motorists,” said Director Tan.
Implemented by DPWH Pangasinan First District Engineering Office, the project involves the construction of stone masonry and laying out of active wire mesh and erosion control mat.
The P96.5-million asset preservation works funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA) also covers the construction of lined canal along the road to ensure proper water flow during heavy rains.
