COVID-19 vac of all students preferred in expanded face-to-face classes- DepEd

“Included in our expanded phase of face-to-face classes was our agreement with DOH that vaccination of all learners is preferred,” Education Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan said for the Department of Education vaccination from COVID-19 of all students is preferred for expanded face-to-face classes.
At the Laging Handa public briefing, Malaluan said that is based on their agreement with Department of Health (DOH)
Malaluan said DOH as well as vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. have already committed to prioritize vaccination.
The pilot rollout of the vaccination of children aged five to 11 is set to start tomorrow, February 4. According to Malaluan, there are around 14 million students in basic education who belong to this age group.
With the start of vaccination of five to 11 years and the ongoing inoculation drive for 12 to 17 years old adolescents, Malaluan said these programs already covered students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 Level.
The conduct of expanded face-to-face classes in the country will start by February, the DepEd said.
